Rainy Thursday, June 2, AKA Festa di Repubblica

We waited way too long for the little
orange bus to pick us up before deciding
to Google what Italian holiday is on June 2
It's the day Italy nixed the monarchy and became a republic
June 2, 1946.
BIG HOLIDAY
Lots of people out and about, locals, Italians from other locations
and tourists, of course.

This cat chooses any warm engine in front of the apartment and sleeps

Headed for lunch
walking down the Corso
The green cross identifies Farmacia's

This is known as an irresistible shot

View from the terrace of the restaurant
Caffe Poliziano
A favorite of all my guests and me
We were early birds for lunch
The restaurant soon filled up.

On the menu...mushy peas!
